So, here it is...
my Artist Page!
I'll include other works and crafts stuffs that I've done, and do (now you can scroll down and see some examples), but I wanted to first and foremost put it out there that one of the hobbies that I enjoy most, is painting.
And what I enjoy painting is Implied Genitalia.
you know..."Privates"
Why?
I mean... Why not? I believe sexuality has been taboo for far too long. Sexuality should not be shunned nor ridiculed. Yes, I AM a FEMINIST, and I am proud of it. I have treated men the same way they have treated me, my entire life. I have never believed in the standards I grew up with, where each sex had it's own distinguished role. In my opinion, this was and is~ BULLSHIT. If a man could do something, or act a certain way, and be "okay" as far as society is concerned, then so could I.
I had to develop a thick skin when I accepted this mentality, because there was no end to the judgements I constantly received. I have lived my life according to MY beliefs. Not anyone else's, and I can truly say that it has made me a happier and more secure individual, as well as a woman with limitless power and potential. I have pushed the boundaries and exceeded my own limits,
and become the person I knew I wanted to be.
It is in celebration of the beauty that is at the foundation of our DNA, the basic need to reproduce and the appreciation of the tools used and the pleasure gained, and in remembrance of our spiritual roots, and as tribute to the women who have come before me, and the men who did NOT suppress them, but supported them and treated them as equals, that I proudly announce to the world, that YES, I DO paint Vaginas and penises, and I don't care who it offends, nor do I care if anyone even likes them. These paintings represent my views and experiences, as well as my beliefs.
So how did I get started painting p*$$ies?
Well...
My mother started painting again a few years back, after not having painted in decades. Seeing her pick up a brush and make something beautiful is what ignited my own dormant artist, again, after my own hiatus. Then I had the pleasure of meeting a
contemporary artist (Nykii Cranium), whose work demonstrated clearly to me, that paintings didn't have to be realistic...
they could be surreal and/or impressionistic.
As the wheels started turning in my brain, and the seed for my paintings was just barely beginning to sprout, I ran across Stephanie Sarley's videos, and then also, the paintings done in the early 1900s by Georgia O'Keefe.
Suddenly, everything merged together cohesively, that I KNEW instantly what I wanted to paint.
And so I started.

Anyway...
At some point, I went with a couple of girlfriends to a painting party... the kind where we get together, drink, and paint. Well, I mistakenly thought everyone in attendance was a guest of one of my girls. I was VERY wrong, but was still pleased with how the painting my other girlfriend and I did together, because it is exactly that moment when I decided to do my very own,
({})Private({}) Painting Parties.
Here's the painting we did that night, while sitting ACROSS from each other, unable to see each other's work.
Mine is the purple side, btw.
It was suppossed to be a cute seasonal tree,
but we ended up adding our own creative touch to it!

when I kicked off my first ever

Unfortunately, it was the only one I did.
But, I know it won't be the last. We had too much fun that night and the idea as a whole was well received.

Valentine's Day Banana
I've done a few since I started painting again in 2016, which you will see them in just a moment... but here is one I painted on the bathroom wall in a house I lived in in 2008, which I ended up painting over when we moved out. It is followed by another painting I did finally, in 2016, after the image was stuck in my head forever, as it was a companion painting to this first one, meant to be painted on the opposite wall...
Here are a few more I have done. Like the mermaid/octopus one above, some are not what I'd call "done" yet...
I did this for the 20th anniversary of the Vagina Monologues (2018).
I was inspired initially by Beyonce's "Who Run the World(GIRLS)", but the vision has evolved into this idea of not only powerful women and a great empowering song... but, Strong Black Women. You know who I'm talking about... those beautiful & admirable ladies that always get the short end, who are always forgotten and treated like shit.
Yeah?
Well, NOT. By. ME.
Never have, never will.
For all my friends, sisters, nieces and my beautiful black daughter and black grand daughter... I stand by you. I support you.
I'll fight FOR you and WITH you.

This is one of my most recent ones, I started it last year, but finally finished it in January(2019).
It's called "Pulsations" and I was singing 'Fight Song' the whole time I was painting it.

And this is my latest... "When the Pussy Grabs Back" I did it for this year's #VDay #VaginaMonologues2019
I was inspired by the Hindu Goddess Kali, The Virgin Mary, and Lady of Guadalupe, among others.

*and as a side note... I haven't thought about selling them, but if someone was interested in one of my paintings, I would consider it. Just head on over to the Contact me page, and let me know!
Here I'll 'showcase' my other pieces of artwork & craft stuff...
Below is a plaque/wand stand that I made for my daughter for Christmas of last year (2019). The wand I made, as well.
This is a jewelry box I made for my grandbaby Christmas (2018). She loves Sonic the Hedgehog.
It plays "We wish you a Merry Christmas"

This is a Gryffindor Wand Stand I made for my husband for Christmas (2018), to go with the wand I made him in September, same year.
I also make Necklaces, etc. for friends and family members using crystals/stones that speak to me for the people they're intended for.
