My Favorite Star Trek TNG Episodes... was supposed to be 10, but who am I kidding? My 25 Favorite Star Trek TNG episodes...

Yes, Jean Luc... It's true. I only picked 25...

BUT, I really could've picked so many more.

Funny enough, I was thinking about doing this list, not realizing in my great busy life, that this month was actually the
50th anniversary of Star Trek.
I know, I call myself a Trekky? Okay, so I'm not the "Dress-up, super excited, go to conventions, kind of Trekky"... but I DO LOVE Star Trek.

I actually "grew up" on Voyager, mostly because since we didn't have cable, Voyager was the only version I'd be able to watch on TV, around 4-5pm on school nights. DS9 came a little later, but I've always detested the Ferengi, so I never took interest in it. I know, I'm prejudiced!

But then, I stopped watching for a while. TV stopped appealing to me, and what did was never Star Trek. I didn't even notice if it was on. I was too busy with the History Channel, and the Discovery Channel if I even had time for television...

Then I realized something beautiful...

My husband is also a Trekky. I came into the room one day, and he was watching TNG. He offered to change it, but as I've always thought Patrick Stewart was sexy, I said "Uh, no... Leave it." I'd only ever seen a handful of TNG episodes, and the timing was right for me to get back to Trekkin, so-to-speak. History Channel had since changed their programming to a whole bunch of Reality TV stuff, and other stuff I wasn't interested in (except Vikings--I LOVE Vikings), and I needed something "new."

So I watched... EVERY. SINGLE. EPISODE...

If it wasn't on TV, or there were episodes showing I'd already seen, I'd get irritated. Then I realized with my PRIME Membership with Amazon, that I can watch each episode--for FREE... Which I did!

So... Which ones are my favorites? I could go into some serious details on the whys and whatevers for my reasons for choosing each one, but in the interest of time (yours & mine), I will try to keep each one brief.

....and BTW,
No, I'm not into Worf, he's too tame. I prefer his brother Kurn. No, I wouldn't go to a convention, but I would let my husband dress up at home like Data.
I've separated my choices into 8 categories. Beside the last Grouping, you will (hopefully) see that each one I've picked, could easily be re-grouped into a list titled:
"23 TNG Episodes that COMPLETELY pertain to the world we currently live in."
But I won't go renaming this list, so don't worry!

at least not today.....

And... Each picture has a link to the Most Awesome Webpage I found it on!

I really feel like a few other episodes deserve an Honorable Mention...

Season 1/Episode 6: Where No One Has Gone Before. This is where Wesley first meets the Traveller who makes later appearances. They (the Enterprise) travel to distances, never meant to be reached in their time, and experience a 'world' of open possibilities, a dimension without limits, without defining boundaries, a plane of existence outside and yet still connected to the open mind.

Season 2/Episode 20: The Emissary. This is where we get to see the 'softer' side of Worf, when he meets up with who we can only assume must be a former lover, K'ehleyr, a beautiful-- no, a sexy Klingon/Human female, sent to intercept a century-old Klingon Sleeper Ship filled with Klingon warriors who still believe the Federation is at war with the Klingon Empire.

Season 3/Episode 16: The Offspring. We meet and say goodbye, to Data's daughter Lal... who dies because she "feels," something Data has never been able to experience.

Season 4/Episode 7: Reunion. K'ehleyr returns to the Enterprise to assist with negotiations with rival Houses for the Klingon Leader of the High Council, and brings along her child, Alexander-- Worf's son.  In an emotional ending, we see the ending of one family unit, the forging of another, and the revenge of a broken heart, causing an unexpected shift in power of the High Council.

Season 4/Episode 11: Data's Day. A look into the human life and it's complexities through logical eyes without emotion.

Yes, I know this makes it 30... I really could go on.

I ABSOLUTELY would LOVE to hear from you. I could seriously talk about some Star Trek.

What are your favorite Episodes?

Do you like any of the ones I do? Why or Why not?

And if you don't like them-- suck a toe! Just kidding. That's what I always say to-- just about anyone when we are in a disagreeance, or they annoy me, etc.

You are totally allowed to have your own opinions, of course! And while I won't argue with you, I will politely smile while thinking you're an idiot. Just FYI. ;)

Okay, I'm not that mean. But I know how hard core some of the die-hard fans can get, so I'm just Trash-talking ahead of time!

This has been so much fun! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did-- seeing the episodes from perhaps a slightly more current perspective. The writers of these shows, in fact, the whole franchise, were truly pioneers. They were the Mark Twains and Jules Vernes of their time. 50 Years is thousands of lifetimes when you think about it in Technology Terms. I'm overwhelmed with their imagination, their innovation, and their intuition. Gene Roddenberry and his passionate love of the stars, created a world outside of any we have ever thought of. A world of the future, where life forms are different but still remarkably similar. Where a Captain like Picard (Sorry Kirk fans) is what humans now, should wish to aspire to. Someone who understands that equality is exactly that: Equality. We could learn everything we as humans need to know about how to act and present ourselves, by watching Star Trek.

Which ones?

Which Seasons?

Which Series?

Take your pick!

Or watch them all!

Now If you'll excuse me, I have to go re-watch Voyager, so then I can finally watch Deep Space Nine....

***Disclaimer... I am also a HUGE STAR WARS fan. HUGE. So don't even come at me with no B.S. of Star Trek vs. Star Wars. I am NOT the one to get in the middle of that. I am a Libra, through and through. I can love two opposite entities completely and equally. If this is weird or blasphemy to you, I apologize, in advance for your ignorance. :)

And just for fun, because I like to admit my mistakes and laugh at myself before anyone else...

    Hello!

I’m T.B. Cooper, and I’m very excited to share my life with you. In between living on Pinterest, voicing political views of Equality (on Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr), running an atypical farm in the Southern Nevada Desert, spiritually guiding & advising & fixing lives, and schooling my kids plus a bunch of others' kids (...that I'm not sure how they got here); you’ll find me fighting for desk space with my cats, attempting to keep their hair out of my tea, plugging my nose 'cause my bulldog likes to sleep & fart next to me, trying to actually do some work that makes ME happy…

I'm a woman of many traits and talents, some are better than others. In this Blog you'll find a little bit of everything. And I DO mean EVERYTHING!

Want to know more about me? Visit my About Page or we can talk (I'd love to hear from you), just head over to my Contact Page.
