Alright, so you know my rule-- If it makes me cry, it gets a five… Well, this short novella got me, but was I surprised? No-- it's Shari J. Ryan-- she writes in emotional ink!

Plot: Typical Shari... Writing about a completely plausible life scenario, and throwing in both serendipitous and heart-wrenching moments-- All around the holidays, to boot!

Characters: Okay, can I first say I loved their names? Finnely and Bex... Those names alone made (it) instantly appealing. Then, as the story progresses from one day to the next, events as they happen along and sometimes force back-stories of both characters to come out, make them viable as characters and lovable in a “poor thing,” kind of way.

The Writing: This novella was easy to read, thoughtful, and full of Christmas Magic. It was written in first person POV, alternating between Finnley and Bex.

In Case You Wanted to Know: Ah, young love-- college kids and their stubborn & independent ways. There's humor, sadness, silliness and romance, and not-too-graphic sex. All the makings of a cozy little love story.

Overall: This is a sweet & bittersweet read. I didn't know what to expect, but I've learned to trust Shari when she weaves with her magical pen… I go wherever it leads me because I know I will feel complete, at the end!
