5 Great Homesteading Sites You Should Checkout

© T.B. Cooper
So this journey we have been on for a few years, Homesteading, I mean, has been fraught with danger, and mistakes, and fun.

I can honestly tell you, that if it wasn't for ladies like those pictured next to these words, people like me, would have to learn everything the hard way. And when it comes to a farm, hard way can be deadly.

These are just 5 of the sites that I happen to love. There are definitely 100s more, each one run by someone who hopefully cares as much about the land and their critters as these Excellent Homesteading Bloggers do.

I strongly encourage you to take a few minutes (it'll be more like an hour or two) and peruse their pages. Get ideas. Find Inspiration. Learn something you didn't know, you didn't know.

And if you find that you like them as much as I do, sign-up for their newsletter, like their posts, use their affiliate links. Your support (and mine) keeps that information coming.

Before I continue, I want to say thank you to those who run the blogs I'm going to mention.
Your posts have been inspiring, insightful, and greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Quinn, Reformation Acres
A couple of months back, I shared one of my favorite posts from Reformation Acres, it was titled: 15 Reasons to Reconsider your Homestead Dream. I still feel this was one of the best articles written for folks considering the lifestyle.

Besides that article, Reformation Acres is chock-full of Tips, Resources, and Recipes... all kinds of good stuff!!

Jill, The Prairie Homestead
Besides the excellent source of Homesteading Information that Jill provides on her site,
I love the fact that when you subscribe to her Newsletter, you get weekly advice for all kinds of things.
Known as the "Homestead Tool Box," every week you get 4 useful tips, like the one I received on
June 29th/Toolbox Tip #77 "Herbs for Chicken Nesting Boxes"

Katie, Livin Lovin Farmin
This has got to be just one of the Prettiest Farms I've ever seen! I love visiting Katie's site, and reading her down-to-Earth posts.
She can get pretty "real" sometimes, bearing her soul for all to see. Like this post about some hard-learned mistakes.

DIY Rain Barrel How to, from Homestead Lifestyle
Another site I enjoy reading through is Homestead Lifestyle. I couldn't find a picture of who runs the site. Once you get passed the tiny script and pop-up newsletter window that appears each time you click a new page, you get access to a wealth of useful information.
The posts are neatly organized so you can skim through and select "Read More" if you're interested.

The site contains MANY How-tos with detailed instructions and materials lists, like the one above for the DIY Rain Barrel.
I stumbled upon them when I saw a pin on Pinterest for a Crocheted Hammock Chair.

Jami, An Oregon Cottage
Sometime last year, I was searching for some direction on organizing my Monthly Homestead To Do/Chore Lists.
That's when I found Jami of An Oregon Cottage. This is probably my most favorite site.
My only complaint?
Her home is TOO PERFECT. I call that style of decorating and cleanliness (which my sister is found of)
"Nasty Martha Stewart/Better Homes & Gardens Magazine" style. It's too clean & too perfect!
That is of course said with a complimenting smile, in case that didn't read as such!

But I'm not judging her on her home, or how clean, neat, bright, and cheery it looks.

I'm "judging" her on her Homesteading Perfection.

Besides being clean and clear and easy to read (her posts), the information has been invaluable.
For an example, check out her Chore List for September.

BTW, my style? Collective Creative Clutter. I'm a hoarder and have no "style."
Unless books everywhere count as decorating!

I hope you've enjoyed this post.
I'd love to know if there's a site you think I should checkout!

    Hello!

I’m T.B. Cooper, and I’m very excited to share my life with you. In between living on Pinterest, voicing political views of Equality (on Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr), running an atypical farm in the Southern Nevada Desert, spiritually guiding & advising & fixing lives, and schooling my kids plus a bunch of others' kids (...that I'm not sure how they got here); you’ll find me fighting for desk space with my cats, attempting to keep their hair out of my tea, plugging my nose 'cause my bulldog likes to sleep & fart next to me, trying to actually do some work that makes ME happy…

I'm a woman of many traits and talents, some are better than others. In this Blog you'll find a little bit of everything. And I DO mean EVERYTHING!

Want to know more about me? Visit my About Page or we can talk (I'd love to hear from you), just head over to my Contact Page.
